| Description: | One of the first standard business models was the SCOR or Supply Chain Operations Reference Model that was introduced in 1996 by the Supply Chain Council. Since that point in time other models have emerged in the Product and Customer areas but no one model has had the same level of acceptance as SCOR. To move standard reference models to the next level, work is underway to develop a Value Chain Operations Reference Model that will incorporate all the High Level Processes of an Enterprise. The key areas involved will include operational excellence through supply chain operations, customer intimacy through customer facing and support activities, and product innovation through product lifecycle activities. Feedback will be sought from the audience on the direction of developing the all encompassing Value Chain Operations Reference Model.
