 The SKF Group was founded in 1907 and is the leading global supplier of products, solutions and services in the area comprising rolling bearings, seals, mechatronics, services and lubrication systems. The Group's service offer also includes technical support, maintenance services, condition monitoring and training.
The SKF business is organized into three divisions; Industrial, Automotive and Service. Each division serves a global market, focusing on its specific customer segments.
SKF has 100 manufacturing sites distributed all over the world and 40 000 employees. Sales companies in 70 countries, supported by some 15 000 distributors and dealers worldwide. SKF is always close to its customers for the supply of knowledge, products and services.
SKF have a long tradition of working with continuous improvement programs and ensuring the right quality for our customers. Six Sigma was first initiated in the Automotive Division, and incorporated as a corporate initiative across all levels of the company during 2004. Today Six Sigma is an increasingly natural way to work, and the DMAIC programs have been followed by Design for Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma programs. The SKF Group has YTD trained some 200 Black Belts and well over a thousand Green Belts. The Corporate Target is to have 1% of the workforce deployed as Black Belts by the end of 2007.
