How to Recognize Best Practices and Leverage Experiences
Company:ISSSP, Inc.

Delivered At:Best Practices in Six Sigma
Length:1 hour
Description:The ability to measure performance according to specified standards for comparison is vital to improving any organization's processes. And, while the role of benchmarking within Six Sigma deployment and implementation is well known, how does a company determine what is truly a best practice worthy of consideration and not, simply, a common practice born out of habitual business trends? From the wealth of information and experiences pertaining to the practice, how can companies hone a practical understanding from which to derive their own "flavor" of Six Sigma that is suitable for their culture? The opportunity for "branding" plays a tremendous role in Six Sigma's future growth and adoption. Organizations must commit themselves to bringing a commonality to the many perspectives, the diversity of languages, which currently permeate the wealth of information available on the practice. And, through the experience of sharing and learning via networking and development programs; knowledge networks and reference sources; and passionate support of the global community, organizations can be entitled to more powerful processes and better results. Founded in 1997, ISSSP grew rapidly during its incubation period and officially launched in October 2001. ISSSP is committed to the advancement of education, research and implementation of the Six Sigma methodology through resources in live, print and electronic media. Today, ISSSP boasts a dynamic global community of individual, corporate and affiliate members representing large and small businesses, across a gamut of industry categories.
