Sustainability Part I - CISR Framework & Toolbox
Category:Workshop
Date / Time:November 29, 2011
At:11th Annual Leadership Conference
Abstract:Six Sigma is an integral part of CISR (sounds like scissor). Continual Improvement for Social Responsibility combines tools from DMAIC and DFSS with Theory of constraints, TRIZ and more. CISR adapts well-worn tools and techniques to drive environmental stewardship, social well-being, and economic prosperity.

We will focus on SRFMEA - Social Responsibility Failure Mode Effects and Analysis. Ironically, FMEA -- developed by the U.S. military, post-World War II, to identify weapon system failure risks -- is the first published CISR tool! Join this step-by-step examination of how Holly Duckworth and Roz Moore used the seven core subjects of ISO 26000 -- the new international guidance standard for social responsibility -- as the framework for adaptation of FMEA. Explore how this framework can be used to adapt other well-worn Six Sigma tools. CISR will be a powerful discipline for organizations seeking to move from good intentions to good actions. In this hands-on workshop, your input and suggestions for additional tools will be captured and shared in future workshops and publications.

Through the integrated use of tools and adaptation to Social Responsibility frameworks, ISSSP members can be part of building the CISR Toolbox. Given that ISO 26000 has been published as guidance, rather than a certification, CISR provides a tangible approach for implementing the first global consensus on the definition of Social Responsibility. Be a part of this important chapter in Six Sigma history!

You will return to your organization with knowledge that you can apply right away. Participants will receive an expertly-developed workbook that illustrates how CISR is the antidote to "greenwashing".
