Roxanne Britland
President,
ISSSP (Deployment Leader)

Building on a 30-year career that combines corporate experience with Lean Six Sigma support, deployment and leadership, Roxanne Britland is widely regarded as a visionary in the leadership and community-building of Lean Six Sigma.

Roxanne began her professional career at Combustion Engineering Inc. in Stamford, Connecticut, which was later acquired by ABB Inc. During her twelve years there, Roxanne held managerial and divisional positions in the company’s Project Management, Management Information Systems, Conference Planning, Production Services, Distribution Services, Communication Services, Human Resource Planning and Quality Program Design departments. She transitioned several of these organizations from corporate-overhead functions to Business Services.

Her time in the corporate sector would serve as the foundation for PRO Support, Roxanne’s first solo business venture launched in 1993. Focused on transactional process design and improvement, as well as Six Sigma program deployment, some PRO Support premier clients included Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), Allied Signal, Bombardier, Whirlpool and Siebe.

In 1997, Roxanne founded Sigma Support, a service organization specializing in helping companies deploy and implement successful Six Sigma programs. Among her accomplishments is the design of several widely used tools for the deployment of Six Sigma, which have become the industry standard. These include project-tracking software focused on the Six Sigma project information and activity required to recognize results; as well as deployment tools, including an initialization program that facilitates the deployment team and creates the necessary infrastructure for a successful Six Sigma implementation.

Roxanne went on to serve as a Vice President at the Six Sigma Academy and supported the following organizations in their deployments: Seagate Technology, Toshiba, McKesson, Dow Chemical, DuPont and BBA. In 2000, Roxanne left to co-found the Six Sigma consulting business, Breakthrough Management Group (BMG) and continued to enhance the programs for which she is recognized and to support many more organizations in their deployments.

Fortunate to be involved with Lean Six Sigma from its early phases of rollout into corporate America, Roxanne has gained a unique perspective on the needs and concerns of all constituents involved in implementing Lean Six Sigma, from C-levels to management to the professional practitioners and the consultants. She has been a dominant force in recognizing and developing strategic programs in support of the understanding and adoption of Lean Six Sigma.

An industry thought leader, Roxanne recognized the need for a professional organization to build a community addressing the requirements of corporate executives, industry experts and professionals committed to Six Sigma principles. In 2001, she founded the International Society of Six Sigma Professionals (ISSSP) and currently serves as its Chairman of the Board. Roxanne has been the architect of the premiere recognized annual ISSSP Leadership Conference, having designed the program for 10 years. She has personally participated in dozens of Benchmarking Tours and Fourms with highly credible organizations implementing Lean Six Sigma. She is responsible for the development of the Leadership Circle, (thought leaders within the community), gathering together for discussion and advancement on topics of interest/concern within the discipline of Lean Six Sigma.

In 2009, Dr. Mikel Harry invited Roxanne to join his launch team for the newly developed 4th generation of Six Sigma, The Great Discovery. Her role has been to support the development of the delivery program of this methodology which enhances human achievement. She is a Certified Master Facilitator and Coach of The Great Discovery.

In March 2010, Roxanne joined The AIT Group and serves as it's Vice President, Organizational Transformation. The AIT Group is an organization focused on business process transformation and business performance improvement - with Lean, Six Sigma and Supply Chain skills being a means to achieve this objective. In joining the existing leadership team, her role is to lead new business development activities, support the expansion of services within existing clients, develop the sales and marketing strategy to achieve AIT business goals, and to perform client work to support the development, success and sustainability of their deployment strategies.

Not only has Lean Six Sigma and The Great Discovery provided the infrastructure for Roxanne's professional accomplishments, but it has also been a pivotal experience in guiding her personal life. Roxanne advocates for the methodology's benefits outside of the business world. In the same manner as Lean Six Sigma and The Great Discovery tenets can transform the culture of an organization, applying this way of thinking to one's personal life can help identify greater opportunities of success and help gain personal achievement.
