Product Development embodies the essence of the Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology and uses the
tools to better capture the Voice of the Customer, as well as documenting and understanding their specific
requirements (needs and wants), while allowing them to be able to say "no" to the things that are not what
they desire or are willing to pay for.
This unique symposium, designed for business professionals at all levels and hosted by Raytheon, focuses on areas of interest to practitioners, brought to you by recognized Corporate Six Sigma Leaders. Network and learn
from experienced Six Sigma practitioners from companies like Dow Chemical, Seagate Technologies, Johnson & Johnson, Bank of America, 3M, Honeywell, DuPont and many more.

Four specific categories help us to sub-group into focused areas of application:
Continuous - production is repetitive, products are built on demand and to stock. A product development roadmap exists describing current and future product development schedules. Product development is a process, sustained and governed by a long term planning process.
Limited - includes the production of items that are engineered and built to order. They are typically discrete in nature or built one at a time, such as a prototype, a building, or a special facility, room or machine. Items are typically built with R&D or Customer funding and are not stocked or inventoried.
Technology - utilizing the DFSS methodology, R&D applies the essential statistical tools to insure that the critical measurements and CTQs (Critical to Quality) inputs are analyzed and included in the improvement process as part of the overall design. This leads to shorter cycle times and improved quality at all stage of development.
Services - the focus is on the customer and what level of support we can deliver for services they no longer want to manage or fund by themselves. Typically, response time is a crucial measure as well as overall customer satisfaction as defined in a Serve Level Agreement. The range of application is extremely diverse and includes Health Care, Financial Services, Information Technology, Contract Labor and many others. It also encompasses the traditional support staff found in most major corporations like, Human Resources, Facilities, Legal, Supply Management, Sales and Marketing.
"The energy practitioners gain from their external peers initiates the chainreaction to impact their own culture." - Roxanne O’Brasky, President - ISSSP
"This will be a premier, flagship event focused on experiences, learnings and the best applications from practitioners, representing leading edge and world class thinking." - Jon McKenzie, Director - Raytheon Six Sigma
