How can we predictably create innovations? Is it possible to have creativity on demand? How can we plan and be certain the solution will not require rework? How can we feel confident that we addressed the right problem, gathered the right facts, put forth effort in the most critical areas, evaluated our ideas against the appropriate criteria, and assessed risk and contingencies with sufficient rigor?
blog.theaitgroup.com | AIT Group, Inc., and Dr. George Land, have created a dynamic blog page with podcasts you can preview on AIT TV; the perfect opportunity to sample the first chapter of his book "Break Point and Beyond" and a Resource Library for Innovation. Take advantage of this opportunity to interface with one the most recognized leaders in Innovation and Competitive Strategy, and get answers on how to Innovate Lean Six Sigma. Download (Innovations in Lean Six Sigma) the results from the 7 workshops, with over 100 companies, who participated in discovering and outlining where innovation is needed in Lean Six Sigma. | | How Can You Improve Your Probability of Project Success? Does your company have difficulty forecasting the financial impact of potential projects? Does your Lean Six Sigma deployment have a system in place to pinpoint the risks that can delay or derail critical projects? Simulation and optimization are techniques traditionally used in the Analyze and Improve phases to identify the critical X's and process flow inhibitors and evaluate the impact of proposed process improvement prior to implementation. Did you know that the very same techniques can be equally effective when applied early in the Define phase to reduce the risk and uncertainty around project success? Search iKnow to find out how you can improve the outcomes of your projects! Improving Your Probability of Project Success Early in the Define Phase
Presented by Hilary Emmett at the ISSSP Leadership Conference (May19-22)
This session, designed for both the beginner and the advanced practitioner, will focus on the many uses of these analytical methods during the Define phase. Whether your organization is a developing Six Sigma implementation looking to minimize risk or a mature deployment looking to maximize project impact after exhausting the high-return, "low hanging fruit," simulation and optimization can dramatically improve how you assess and select proposed projects. Practical examples will include the use of simulation to estimate the financial impact of projects with uncertain customer demand and sales projections, and project management techniques that address variation in schedule and resource utilization. |

An ISSSP Corporate Benefit

Transactional Curriculum Survey Hosted by Delphi Electronics Group |
 |
Has your organization struggled with the right approach to deploying transactional training and certification? The Delphi Electronics Group, an ISSSP Corporate Leader, hosted an ISSSP Member Survey to benchmark their own transactional deployment. The primary intent of the survey was to gage the usage and sophistication of Six Sigma transactional projects, curriculum, training and certification.
Over 200 individuals responded. One interesting finding was that almost 40% of respondents claimed their organizations offered completely stand-alone Transactional Black Belt curriculum while 19% offered none. The remainder offered either additional transaction "add-on" days or one combined curriculum.
The survey is now available to ISSSP Members. Click here to obtain a copy of this report detailing the questions, corresponding answers, related commentary, and best practices.
